This page outlines problems that have been encountered when using OpenJUMP HoRAE. We try to give suggestions how to overcome these problems.

When calculating a home range contour the result is offset and wrong

  • Description: After a density surface was generated, one wants to calculate a probability contour (e.g. 95%) from the density grid. But the result of the calculation is off-set and also seems to be wrong when one considers how the density grid looks like.
  • Possible Reason: this happened for instance when the visibility of the density grid was toggled (i.e. switched on and off). We assume that the during this process something happens with data grid - but we can't say what exactly.
  • Possible Solution: The best is to recalculate the density raster and then without activating other functions performing the contour generation.
