meeting notes, for 27. July 2014 with José Ossa:
- thinks that it may be easier + faster to request shapefiles via Ley de Transparencia instead of convenio marco (i.e why starting a time comsuming agreement process if...)
- it would actually require to do convenios with each agency separately (Conaf, CNR, Ciren, ...)
- there is no WFS access yet - only WMS (if there will be WFS needs to be decided by the board of directors - from each agency, but José is lobbying for it - but agency directors are also new)
- has no idea yet if we should "return something" (e.g. write a report about what we did)
- further distribution depends on what each agency says. However, for ley de transparencia, there should be no problem as long as the source is mentioned
- update cycle for each dataset can be obtained from the (geo-)catalog => e.g. José said the "bosques nativos" (conaf?) dataset is updated by about 2 regions a year only.
- IGM -DB: Minagri bought(!) their data and got it on DVD (shapefile). IGMs "curvas de nivel" dataset did not fit on boundaries, so Minargi (ciren?) adjusted it. However, they cannot share it.
- they also have meterologic database with live data (update every 15min) which is run by 3 groups/consortia
- existing data => see document on IDE Minagri website: http://ide.minagri.gob.cl/geoweb/ (I got also a document sent by Alejandra, PUC)
